Assertive communication starts here.

Assertiveness isn't about becoming someone you're not - it's about expressing yourself clearly while maintaining respect for both you and others. Think of it as finding your true voice, one that allows you to build stronger relationships while staying true to your values.

This program provides 9-week's of access to an online workbook based course. The workbook sections can be downloaded and saved for future reference. I provide support by messaging accessible through the on-line program to answer questions or chat about the material.

Once purchased you will receive an email with access to the course within 24 business hours.

This course is available to Ontario residents only.

Program Outline

This comprehensive assertiveness training program will guide you through nine carefully structured modules. Starting with fundamental communication concepts, it progressively builds toward natural, confident assertiveness. The journey begins by describing the different communication styles and their own patterns. From there, it addresses internal barriers and fears before moving into practical techniques and skills. The program then focuses on specific challenges like saying no and handling criticism, ultimately working toward seamless integration of assertive communication in daily life.

Module 1 - Understanding Different Communication Styles

Explores the four main communication styles (passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive, and assertive), and explores your current patterns and the impact of these styles on relationships.

Module 2 - Overcoming Internal Barriers

Addresses the inner obstacles that prevent assertive communication, including fears, limiting beliefs, and automatic thoughts. You'll learn to recognize and work through these barriers, developing a mindset that supports assertive communication.

Module 3 - Preparing for Assertive Action

Focuses on the practical and psychological preparation needed for assertive communication. This includes developing self-awareness, managing anxiety, and understanding how to create the right conditions for assertive interactions.

Module 4 - Assertive Techniques

Introduces specific tools and strategies for assertive communication. You'll learn and practice various techniques for expressing needs, setting boundaries, and maintaining respectful dialogue, building a practical toolkit for different situations.

Module 5 - Assertive Nonverbal Behavior

Explores the crucial role of body language, tone, and presence in assertive communication. You'll learn to align their nonverbal communication with your verbal message to enhance your effectiveness.

Module 6 - Assertive Refusal

Focuses specifically on the art of saying no assertively. This module helps you to maintain boundaries while preserving relationships, addressing one of the most challenging aspects of assertive communication.

Module 7 - Assertively Responding to Criticism

Teaches strategies for handling both constructive and destructive criticism assertively. You'll learn to respond rather than react, maintaining self-respect while being open to valuable feedback.

Module 8 - Assertively Giving Feedback

Explores how to provide feedback to others in a way that is both honest and constructive. This module helps you to express concerns and appreciations effectively, strengthening your relationships through clear communication.

Module 9 - Integration in Daily Life

Focuses on incorporating assertive communication naturally into everyday life. This final module will help you to continue growing in your assertiveness journey.
